What is Multiconsciousness?
Multiconsciousness in the context I’m using is more than one conscious entity interacting in the life of an individual, ranging from a sort of passive influence (nudging in directions) to actually forcibly taking over driving life.
Personally, I identify as a plural system, though I’m not entirely sure of our origins, I usually just end up saying “mixed-origin/multigenic/quoigenic gateway system”. The working theory of one of my previous therapists was that I’m a sociocognitive sociocultural multiconscious individual, which is a bunch of fancy words meaning that I interpreted my experience of psychotic episodes into parts of consciousness and spiritual walk-ins because I was in contact with other multiconscious individuals including: some channelers, oracles and godphones in the New Age/Wicca/Druidry community, soulbonders in writing communities, and DID and OSDD systems through LiveJournal.
Multiconsciousness is a spectrum of plural experience (plural meaning “many”). There are degrees of multiconsciousness, from IFS parts of consciousness, to general age-regression, to the extremes of DID and some individuals with Psychotic Disorders if they choose to identify as multiple. It also includes thoughtforms, channelers if they believe their walkins/messengers are separate consciousnesses.
Plurality, also known as multiplicity is more than one consciousness typically taking ownership of an individual’s life and body. Personally, we feel we fit under almost all the categories of plurality in the flag above, though primarily identify as a gateway system of fictives and factives. Gateway systems are systems that believe their body is like an embassy system between other worlds where they channel different realities. Fictives are members from fictional sources. Factives are members from Real Life sources ranging from people you know personally (friends, family members, teachers, therapists, abusers) to celebrities.
